Kieran Dempsey is Chief Executive Officer for Sapphire Blue, a Managing General Underwriter of Ryan Specialty Group. Kieran joined Ryan Specialty Group in May of 2011. Sapphire Blue specializes in the long term care industry. Kieran is responsible for leading the RSG Underwriting Managers' healthcare and life sciences underwriting companies. He has more than 25 years' experience in healthcare underwriting and management.
Prior to joining Ryan Specialty Group, Kieran led the long term care underwriting team at Beazley. He was also the founding partner of Sapphire Blue, a managing general underwriter in Chicago. Beazley acquired his company in March, 2007, and RSG acquired this business in 2011.
Kieran attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and Clarkson University, and, in 1987, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management and an Associate in Risk Management designation from the AICPCU.
