Nancy McMahon is Chief Underwriting Officer for Sapphire Blue, a Managing General Underwriter of Ryan Specialty Group. Nancy joined Ryan Specialty Group in May of 2011. Sapphire Blue specializes in the long term care industry.
Sapphire Blue currently underwrites on behalf of Beazley, a Lloyd's syndicate. The program is over $25 million and provides Professional and General Liability.
Nancy began her insurance career 24 years ago as a reinsurance technician with Alexander and Alexander. Later, she was a broker with Avreco. In 1997 Nancy joined CNA as a Senior Underwriter for CNA Healthpro, underwriting all classes of medical professional liability. In 1999 she joined Professional Underwriters Corporation to become Director of Medical Professional Liability, responsible for launching a new long term care program with Lloyd's of London.
In 2001 Nancy became a founding member of Sapphire Blue, LLC, an MGA specializing in long term care. Sapphire Blue was acquired by Beazley Group, a Lloyd's Syndicate in 2007.
Nancy graduated from Triton College in River Grove, IL in 1998.
